Life in General (No. 1)

Hello nothingness...

Just doodling around PhotoShop and I came up with this amatuerish thingee, I'm a newbie when it comes to digital art manipulation via PS and hope to get better at doing it (now all I need is a pen tablet of sorts to get the ball rolling, its hard drawing via the mouse geeeez).

I've always loved single-paneled comic strips like Gary Larson's Farside and heres my lame take on it.

Hello Nothingness...
Just want to put some filler here, I've no real concrete and interesting thing to blab abou. I was reading Gerry Alanguilan's Blogsite as usual and happen to get redirected to Reno Maniquis' blogsite (a great artist by the way) and happen to stumble upon this Superhero test of sorts, click the link below and take the test to know what superhero are you, the result that I got was truly unexpected, I was betting on Wolverine and I got Green Lantern, geez, honestly I never imagined me being Mr. Greeny, I never really read the comicbook. All in all, its an amusing little test.

YouTube finds part I

Hello, nothingness....

Since as of the moment, I'm terribly busy with work and other personals, just wana do a quick post of my YouTube video finds. I usually browse (when I have the time) for videos which interest me on this site and here are a few, click and happy viewing...

Laughed my ass off with this one, the perennial DC and Marvel wars, I like Batman and Spidey's bantering.

This one was made by a fan, wish it were a real movie though, it would kick ass. Nice trailer, Batman could've been more dark looking and taller and Superman could've been more appealing.

I'm eagerly awaiting this movie along with Wolverine, its a long wait though, May 2008. Ironman is one cool superheroe, like Batman who actually has no superpowers whatsoever but rely on intelligence and technology to fight crime.

CEMP's Legion of the Unlighted gig, 9/8/2007

Hello nothingness...

Last night I was able to witness CEMP (Cebu Extreme Metal Production) produced gig at the ZZUBU Rock bar entitled Legion of the Unlighted. As usual, my band wasn't able to play and we still have no drummer to date. I was there as supporter for the metal music scene. The gig consist mostly of upcoming metal bands here in Cebu, except for the guest performance of Comatose and the resurrected Abyss (known for their anthem song Rock Against Drugs). Though I arrived a wee bit late with Jerry (co-founder of CEMP), around 9:30 and I haven’t witnessed the entire gig and went home around 12:30, I only witnessed the performances of Suicide Autopsy, Skitzophrenia, Comatose, The Abyss, Garden of Nero, Kremate and Black Diary and wished to have witnessed the first band to perform that night which I terribly can’t recall their name for now (my apologies), a lot of people told me what I’ve missed, their set was tight and to top things of, fronting the band was a female death metal vocalist. That alone is worth mentioning and witnessing. Maybe they’re Cebu’s answer to Archenemy. I can recall liking Skitzophrenia’s set, they all played Pantera covers and they quite pulled it off, maybe I just miss hearing Pantera songs. The other bands were just so and so (unpolished, raw performances which is still cool in my book) but they have the heart and passion and dedication of waving the banner of the Cebu Metal Scene to the public and hope to make a dent in the scene, except for Comatose and the Abyss, they have a more polished sound because they’re veterans in the field. I had to bail out early, orders from my better half, a.k.a. commanding officer. I was getting uncomfortable anyway, from the smoke and the near claustrophobic floor area of the bar itself, wish it were a larger venue. All in all, the event boosted my jaded metalista side and hope that my band could take part again in the future CEMP produced events to come (a storm is brewing come this November), now all we need is a drummer, again. Tough luck.

Busy as a Bee (a huge stupid looking bee)

hello nothingness...

Well, just wanna update on things, nothing real concrete to put in here so what the hell, I'll just babble on something.

I've been busy with work as usual, gotta have a day job for me to somehow make a living and insure me that I'm still of use somewhere, somehow in society. Ever heard of rumors that working for the government means low competency and less work for a paycheck without sweating it up, work comprising of sitting on your butt for 8 hours reading the news or exchanging gossip with co-employees and hurling offensives to the public clientele. Well, none of that ever happens in my line of work, we are almost always drowning on paper work and backlogs that I can't seem to remember a time when I ever experienced being happy and contented with it. It just doesn't quite cut it. I always feel that we are spread out thinly on a  very large scope of work. Well, enough of that, after work I enrolled myself to a computer learining center here somewhere in Cebu, subject of which is Computer Graphic Design in Photoshop, which is sort of an unwinder to me. It's closer to my interest, being the arts and I think it will benefit me in my reviving my hobby of drawing and sketching. So, will see what happens when I get the hang of it.

So much for updates huh.
