Outlet Humor pt.1

Had this one posted up at Twitpic (ah, the latest craze) like Twitter wasn’t enough for some people. I’ve been meaning to post this one and finally got the chance when I happen to drop by the office restroom today with my camera-enabled cellfone in hand and clicked away at this fairly unobtrusive little outlet situated right above one of the toilets and every time when I happen to use the john I always come across this one and it always never failed to amuse me. The outlet kinda looks like two shocked faced individuals don’t you think? :)

Sadly...

Sadly...I have been neglecting this blog for quite some time now and it doesn't mean that I have nothing to post also. It has been a year since I kept this blog and much have I learned about blogging. In fact, I've been active mostly now on my work-in-progress art journal The Pencil Pushing Area which I feel more inclined to update because as of the moment I'm into my drawing itch again and it has been almost like 10 years since I was crazy about drawing/sketching comic book characters and the like and I'm riding on to it for now. As far as I can assess, I'm not really good at posting interesting topics and as much as I wanted to say what's on my mind (and I've got a lot of interesting things running round me head) I just can't organize and put them thoughts on digital paper and make this blog more interesting with interesting post. But all in all, I am not closing this blog, mind you. More of a sabbatical and maybe, just maybe I'd find the spark or spank that I need to get these gears going. So, that's it people, if anyone's interested still, look for me on the left hand sidebar and have a click at it. Maybe I updated some things elsewhere...I'll be back!

Laughed my a$$ out watching it rock its head and do the dance, it really grabbed everyones attention there. Makes me want one for christmas just for kicks..hehehe...

Random Thoughts-Scene 1

Imagine yourself sitting comfortably somewhere private, remote and nature laden like an oceanic view. The soft glare of the early morning sun warming your skin and the gently, intoxicating sea breeze sweeping all around you like an after thought. Now you are staring into the vastness of the ocean and instantly feel minute and insignificant to the world around you and the feeling of discordance and meaningless comes to mind as you keep on staring. Amidst all this you come to a glaring conclusion that no matter how insignificant you may be, you are in awe of the life and the world around you and no matter what the cost you must have the will to carry on and see what the future holds for you when you snap back into civilization. Remember that you are far away from the bustling city life. The urban jungle is but a memory now. You are almost in trance, save that you still feel the comfort of you sitting somewhere remote and alone with some drink in hand, preferrably a can of ice cold beer. Then reality kicks in... Imagine an ugly boot forever stomping on your head on the pavement of the future.

The Watchmen is Coming

I am also excited when a movie adaptation of a comicbook series or character comes along like them Batman, Xmen, Spiderman and Hulk franchises and some one shots like 300 and V for Vendeta or the Crow even. And from watching this Watchmen trailer awhile ago it gave me goosebumps all over. Wow, so true to the comic book and so cool was it even this early on I can say that it will be a winner. Im looking forward to it, although its still on 2009, good things come to those who wait, as they say. A classic just like its original comicbook version. Hope so. Watch it and tell me what you think. If anyone one wants an ebook version of the comicbook to go read and enjoy, I can gladly pinpoint you with the appropriate download links (is this legal?!!). Hehehe...

Blog Filler Me na Me- Part 1

I haven't posted anything interesting almost a month now and for reasons reiterated from my previous posts about me having not posted anything interesting.

These past few weeks went by like a whirl. Work takes most of my time coz its one of our semestral audits once again meaning I have to be in serious mode at work and focus (yeah, right!). I'll even be leaving for Tagbilaran City tomorrow till Saturday on official business and be leaving for Cagayan de Oro the same Saturday till Tuesday hopefully on some pressing personal matters and did I mention that I am terribly engaged to the most wonderful and complementing person that I have ever known and decided on taking the next step in our relationship (it took us 5 years to decide on this ..heeheh..its about time I guess) and hopefully get hitched this come September 2008. Wahoo!!..Hoorah...Ho...Ha..hmmmm...ehem...cough.. cough! I was so hush hush about this until recently. We're in planning mode now and we busied with complying to some legal and religious (I'm not a religious man to begin with but hey, I can't complain on this one) checklist which added to me being busy all the time these days. Hopefully everythings coming to order/disorder and we'll see what happens in the next few months or so. Wish me luck people. I need all the luck I can get and yeah, financial donations will gladly be accepted.hehehe. I'm on a tight belt with the preparations. Any tips from you dear readers would be a godsend so PM me anytime.

if there was a Da Vinci Code Book 2

Just a little blog filler here, someone forwarded this to me via email and I find it rather amusing and I just wanna share it to all of you's. Hope nobody gets offended, just for kicks. If there was ever a book 2 of Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, some of them would be the likeliest premise.

PROOF THAT JESUS WAS...

...Jewish:

1. He went into his father's business.
2. He lived at home until the age of 33.
3. He was sure his mother was a virgin, and his mother was sure he was God.

...Irish:

1. He never got married.
2. He never held a steady job.
3. His last request was a drink.

...Puerto Rican:

1. His first name was Jesus.
2. He was always in trouble with the law.
3. His mother did not know who his father was.

...Italian:

1. He talked with his hands.
2. He had wine with every meal.
3. He used olive oil.

...Black:

1. He called everybody brother.
2. He liked Gospel.
3. He couldn't get a fair trial.

...Californian:

1. He never cut his hair.
2. He walked around barefoot all the time.
3. He started a new religion.

But the most compelling evidence of all - proof that Jesus was a WOMAN:

1. He had to feed a crowd at a moment's notice when there was no food.
2 . He kept trying to get a message across to a bunch of men who just didn't get it.
3. Even when he was dead, He had to get up because there was more work for him to do.

Chummy's Beans version 2.0

Hello nothingness...

First and foremost...Hurray for Manny "The Pacman" Pacquiao for yet another victorious battle in the canvass board. I have yet to watch the fight. Unfortunately, no cable.

Today I was busy tinkering with my blog design and I am somehow happy with the outcome. Got a new skin/theme template via Final Sense and yeah I really like the bullfrog (I'm not quite sure if its a bullfrog though, Im no biologist or something, but it sure does look like one) squatting over the larger upper part of this screen. Kinda cool and pleasant looking. Frogs are ok in my book. I've always wanted a pet bullfrog but I haven't found a pet shop thats selling them. I might as well be contented with having a picture of it squatting over me blog. By the way, I almost F@#$ up at uploading the new template and it took me about 6 or so attempts in uploading various templates from various sites. Some of them were really cool but a nasty one at being compatible with blogger and only this one's a keeper. I even accidentally deleted most my widgets so I have to reconstruct them, geez, with alot of research (aka google), I learned a thing or too in editing the source code template. Like the Previous Post widget at the left hand corner, you can't get this from default blogger templates, you have to click/copy/paste/delete some things here and there via the account settings. Well, nuff said. I hope blog hoppers and cyber passers-by would appreciate the overall new appearance of this here humble blog of futilities. Good day to one and all. Happy Blogging everyone!

Pac u, pac me, pac everyone (hehhehe)

Good luck to the Pacman today, win or lose, you make every pure blooded Pinoy proud

Dread...a good friend of mine

GEZZZZZZ.....I really need to write something...not just something....something interesting....I've been doing this from almost a year now and I have in part fulfilled the overall theme of this here blog site (read the title and description of my profile on the right hand corner) which is my haphazard albeit confusing mix of thoughts on paper (cyber paper that is), my beans so to speak, spilled and all. But yet, I can’t seem to put out or blog out a thing or two for a weeks duration. It would have been good to have postings of about once a day to fill this blog and get it moving about. If I could get away with a terrible way overdue new years resolution, that would be it. Quantity over Quality (what quality?!) as they say. Rightly so! This feeling of dread that I can't post something is making itself felt lately.

My Sony Ericsson P1i

Hello nothingness...

Anyone of you people who's ever read my previous post, I usually rant about my being a gadget freak and when it comes to mobile phones, I'm a freak. Well, last years holidays I bought a replacement phone as a gift to myself while my Motorola was still (and is still in a state of disrepair now) in the service center for repairs. I constantly badgered my fiancé (and yes, I already proposed to her hand in marriage this 2008....hehehehehe) about buying a new cellphone until she cracked.

I already made three choices in my head at that time on what to buy and mainly 2 factors have urged me to choose them, firstly, budgetary constraints of which being around P10k to P14k max, secondly, I have to have a smartphone (Symbian S60, UIQ3 or Windows Mobile which I’m eager to get my hands on and try but due to its models coming out with a hefty price tag that hampered me on buying one) this time because mainly I miss having one. I ended up choosing between Nokia E61i and Sony Ericsson P990i and P1i and O2 XDA Mini II. I kinda narrowed it down to E61i and P1i because P990i was too bulky and getting too common and O2 XDA Mini II was already too outdated but still cool looking. I was ready to buy the E61i if not for my GF who told me to buy P1i instead because she don’t like it, that it was too broad and calculator like, while the P1i was cooler more hip like. I still would’ve liked the E61i though but she has the final say. Hands down.

Well, I’m terribly enjoying the user experience with the P1i day by day. It’s a cool phone to have and I’ve already soft modified it to my needs (change the short cut icons, made a theme or two and updated its firmware), installed applications and games and stuff. I’ve even upgraded its firmware twice now from their website and much has improved over the daily usability of the phone. It can be a camera at one time and a PDA the next and a phone at once and it can even be an mp3 and video player and mini gaming machine to boot. Hell yeah. But there is no such things a perfect gadget, not in my lifetime I guess. So, there are minor quirks that I can point out. Wifi connection can be a pain to configure, at least to my office connection that is. I can’t seem to get it to surf the damn world wide web even if the prompt on the phone told me that its already paired up with the office WLAN. And also, even now I am unable to send MMS even if I already configured it to do such, maybe it’s a network issue but I haven’t had the time to go to the nearest Globe outlet and have them figure it out for me. 3G usage I also haven’t; had the opportunity to test with due to the latter gripe. These are all minor quirks (and there’s some others too) that I don’t mind having as of this time. Well, one can’t have everything. Nuff said.

2008: a bad start

Hello nothingness...

A lot of s@#$ has happened this two weeks passed and let me just site some of them for laughs here and at the time of this writing, my downward spiral has not been alleviated yet. I’m pissed and messed up in 2008, hooray! F@## off.

Band and s@#$, me and the boys were pumped up last night during the CEMP: Screams of Anguish gig @ the ZZubu Rock Bar with the usual metalheads and the bands from Dumaguete and Bacolod, it was one cool Sinulog gig event and we were really aching to play last night even though I had an on going battle with my freaking gum pains that started two weeks back and Its been festering me until now and that didn’t even stop me from performing our to be set even if it stings me whenever I bark my song to the crowd. Imagine this, try singing (or barking for the death metallist) with inflamed gums and teeth that’s sensitive to touch, that’s what I was going through the whole time thankfully hampered a little by the medicine that I took. But enough of that, the point is, I was being professional and made a point that no matter what the show must go on and we were going to play to the Cebuano metal heads (also it was Sinulog festival happening all over town and it would’ve been nice to make it memorable and played a gig or so) and all of the bands effort was brought to a halt because our drummer was so dead drunk by nightfall that it was next to impossible for him to even lift his drum sticks and play. So, me and the rest of the crew were so bummed. To all metalheads we again apologize for not being able to play last nights gig. It was a cool show, many of the bands lashed out there best and were in a very festive mood and me and the band were having one f#@$ dismal day. I cant blame my drummer if he was enjoying the festivities beforehand and drink to his hearts delight. Its his call.

Another thing with my first two 2008 weeks that’s been like hell was, as hinted above, I had an on going dental problem. My gums all whacked out and inflamed for two weeks now and I had a horrible time with the dentist last Jan. 17 like an ordinary check up gone bad because she made a dental cleaning even if my gums were all swollen and sensitive and the whole cleaning process was a complete agony and pain and it was even my birthday, geez, which eventually made me to decide not to celebrate it and just stay home and let the horrible dental experience subside. The day after that I had my panoramic dental xray and took the results to my dentist and her diagnosis was not at all uplifting which gave me a bleak choice between having my teeth (4 down and 4 up) removed and have dentures or do a major surgical cleaning and reinforced my now degraded bone tissue which cost very steeply. I still hoping for a miracle that maybe, somehow, maybe this problem be solved at a most practical and docile fashion.

With all the s@#$ that’s happened to me as stated above coupled with my usual life downers like not having the motivation to really work and still clueless to what my life should be or am I controlling my life or am I being controlled like a sheep to the slaughter house. I think I’m beginning to feel my age, I feel older now, not in a mature kinda way but old as in tired, of things around me. Maybe I’m just jaded. Hope all of this alleviates soon.

What a damn way to start the year.

To all the Girls I've loved before!!!

Hello nothingness...

Before anyone who's reading this get any funny ideas with the title, well, sorry to disappoint you. hehehe..this is not a list of my past and glorious (yeah, right!) list of women that I have the opportunity to get close with and yes this is not a dissection of the music and lyrics behind the popular song of the same title above. Its just a list of the cellphones that have come and gone into my life, don't get me wrong, cellphones are like girls in a very good way (ever materialistic me). Just a little innocent analogy. They are gorgeous, keeps you entertained and makes good company, you can't live without.

Its been awhile since my last post, yeah and I know I'm one lazy ass. Life's been busy this holiday season. Caught with the dreaded The Holiday Rush: reports to tie up at work, the incessant christmas parties that I have to attend to, the gift pickings (I’m still to start mine) and all the usual paranoia that comes with the holidays that you and I have the privilege to experience. And yes, this relative affects my blog time.

Anyways, lets keep track shall we…heres the list, its just a filler, for inquiring minds only…heheheh….

Phone Model             Type                        Status
Nokia 3210                Monochrome         Sold off
Nokia 3310                Monochrome         Sold off
Nokia 7110                 Monochrome          Sold off
Nokia 6610                Colored                    traded
Nokia 3660               S60 Smartphone      lost
Nokia 6150                Monochrome          given away
Panasonic A100        Monochrome         Sold off
Nokia 6230                Colored                   traded
Nokia 3230                S60 Smartphone   traded
Nokia 6680               S60 Smartphone    traded
Nokia 7710                S90 Smartphone     Sold off
Motorola V3i             Colored                    traded
Sony Ericsson Z710i Colored                    traded
*Motorola L71           Colored                     ICU
*(still in repair, I'm using an old and beat up motorola C380 borrowed from my GF)

Now lets do some little arithmetic (which I terribly suck)...Since the year 2000 up to 2007 I've had a total of 14 cellphones and my average turn-over rate would be a little over 2 cellphones a year at any given moment or an average of changing cellphones every 6 months.. harrowing, terrible, money wasting thing and whats more dreadful is that I can't help myself.

Nuff said.
